Job Description:

Porterfield Trucking LLC is looking for a General Manager to oversee daily operations. This role includes managing drivers, dispatching loads, coordinating truck and trailer maintenance, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in trucking operations, logistics, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with truck repairs and servicing as needed.

  • Oversee daily trucking operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

  • Manage and support drivers, scheduling routes and addressing concerns.

  • Coordinate truck and trailer maintenance for safety and compliance.

  • Dispatch loads, optimizing routes and maintaining customer relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.

  • Manage budgets, control costs, and oversee expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the trucking industry, preferably in operations or management.

  • Knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance.

  • Class A CDL preferred

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently
